But French authorities say that a huge ceremonial zone will be set up around the VIP events, making it impossible for many to reach the graves of their relatives or the places where they fell.

Marching band hopes School Board will OK trip to China
Weekly New Zealand Travel News 6-- If the Collier County School Board approves a request for a March band trip today, Barron Collier High School band members will learn more than only scales and new music during practice. They’ll brush up on their Chinese. The band has requested that the School Board approve a trip to Beijing. If approved, students would have an opportunity to perform in the 2007 American Celebration of Music in China, said Kelly Parker, BCHS band director. “The way I look at it is like this: The marriage of the East and West is going to happen with or without our approval,” Parker said. Students would leave for China on March 30 and return April 9. The trip falls during spring break, meaning students would only miss two days of school, Parker said. Students would perform on the Great Wall of China, at two Chinese conservatories and right outside Tiananmen Square.
